Product Reviews

Fusing cutting-edge technology with a sleek, ultra-light and discreet design, the Plantronics Discovery 665A Bluetooth headset is a great choice for road warriors who need reliable access to communication in the car. It includes a vehicle power charger with call indicator light helps ensure it's always ready when you need it. Ultra-lightweight at just 9 grams (0.3 ounces), it can be worn in either ear and it comes with three gel ear pieces and an optional ear stabilizer for an optimal fit.

The Discovery 665 utilizes Plantronics' AudioIQ digital signal processing (DSP) technology for automatic noise control. For incoming calls, AudioIQ automatically adapts to background noise levels--from a quiet taxi to a noisy city street--and intelligently improves the receive quality, clarity and volume level. For outgoing calls, AudioIQ reduces background noise for listeners up to 7-8 decibels, or by approximately 50 percent. It also minimizes interference from artifacts such as speech distortions to maintain exceptionally clear voice intelligibility.

Keep your eyes on the road while using your phone with headset controls. Adjust the volume or mute calls without having to fumble for your phone. If your cell phone supports it, you can redial the last number called or use voice-activated dialing. Use the vehicle power charger--which plugs into your car's cigarette lighter adapter--to ensure it's always charged and ready for use. You can also easily recharge the headset from your laptop computer with the mini USB adapter (included).

Lightweight and sleek, the Discovery 665 provides stylish long-wearing comfort. With innovative QuickPair technology, the Discovery 665 quickly and easily pairs with your cell phone or other Bluetooth device. (If you do not pair it within 10 minutes, it will turn off and re-pair when turned back on.)

Works Great
Great product. I have no problem hearing anyone and they can hear me just fine. Love that I can use it without needing the ear hook due to when I wear sunglasses it doesn't hurt to have this on at the same time. The button to turn on and off is a little hard to push especially if the unit is in my ear and I want to end a call, I have to grab the whole thing and push the button to end a call but other than that it is a great earpiece.

Decent, lightweight device
A nice, lightweight device. Synchs easily, fits comfortably, stays in the ear well, has decent volume control, and no technical issues of any kind. Unfortunately after several months of daily operation, the rubber piece tends to break down and needs to be replaced. Also, the battery life isn't horribly strong, maybe 4 1/2 hours or so. Consequently, it's great for casual conversations but not so good for all day meetings. I bought a second one in the Gold Box sale so to overcome the battery issue. A pretty solid performer nevertheless, I will most likely buy another one when one of these gives up the ghost.

An okay, but not good, earpiece
I've had this for about a year now and the things I liked about it I still like -- it's small and light, mainly. The things I disliked about it at first have grated on me, and they are many. The design is lousy, basically. The ear gel attaches by clipping quite loosely to the earpiece, and it's supposed to also secure the over-ear hoop if you use it. This setup is extraordinarily flimsy, with the ear gel falling out and getting lost easily. That means the hoop falls off, too. So you have to handle the whole apparatus very gingerly.

Add to this the need to carry the pocket clip in order to charge the earpiece either in the car or from the wall, and that's a lot of little bits to have to remember just to use your bluetooth headset. I found myself forgetting the pocket clip, which serves no other practical purpose, and so not being able to recharge the earpiece.

The talk time dwindles quickly from the advertised 3-4 hrs., which is already nothing great. The unit's buttons are tiny and take a lot of pressure to operate -- not convenient when you're dealing with something stuck into your ear.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend this to a friend given the large selection of much better units out there. This is probably one to avoid.
